Leading up to our third issue going live mid-February, we’ll be sharing some sneak peeks into our featured people articles, so you can get a little flavour and feel of who they are, and get a glimpse at what will be coming up in our next issue!
Your name and company:
Hometown: North Vancouver, BC Canada
What do you do, quickly, what’s your “elevator pitch”?
My company is RockPaperStitches because I do 3 things: I make jewelery (with rocks and handmade glass beads), I make paper cards and illustrations, and I make art textiles with hand stitching. This keeps all parts of my brain happy: The picture part that seeks breathtaking beauty, The word part that seeks sweetly satirical stuff, The tactile textile part that must touch, and The strange part that just wants all alliterations all the time…
What you’re up to at the moment, and where can people see you and your work, in person or online?
I am currently very excited about making handwound glass beads with sand from special places captured within them. Sand from Grouse Mountain and Vancouver beaches, and sand from all around the world that people are bringing me finds its way into these vibrant glass beads. Bring me your dirt.
